16th-20th Zoom Zoom Zoom

This week was very interesting, our lecturer really made this session applicable. What stood out to me was the Zoom in Strategy. This strategy typically refers to a method of storytelling where you start with a broad overview of a topic and then progressively delve into finer details. In doing so the writer is providing a more comprehensive understanding of a subject by examine it at different levels of magnification, much like zooming in on a digital image.     I found this strategy very interesting because it allows the writer to facilitate a more comprehensive and engaging exploration of a topic, making it a valuable tool which will be ideal for storytelling. I really like the idea in which Mrs. Lazarus took us to the Botanical Gardens with the intention of taking one picture in capturing the Ministerial Complex. It was a challenge in taking one shot that can really capture this. My colleges had to walk to a higher point in order for capturing a clearer shot of what ...

Yes, It’s All About Narrative Writing week

9 th -13 th Well again it’s another week for blogging, and this week forces on Narrative writing . First of all, I thought to myself what can be used to assist in this learning process. Then this useful tool came to mind, the KWL chart. Indeed, this is an effective tool that engages student in the learning process.  Therefore, I decided to use this suitable learning tool  . It deals with what you know, what you will like to know and what you have learnt. Before I was introduced to the definition of what is narrative, I already had knowledge of what it entails ( k ) – it deals with story writing. I then wanted to learn, ( w )- how   can I write a good narrative piece and what do I need to do in order for this to be possible. Lastly ( L ), I learnt that good writers spend most of their time in writing down information or brainstorming their ideas. I honestly cannot remember receiving vivid information of narrative writing until this course. My thoughts of n...

The Pre-writing Stage

Image
2nd - 6th October,2023 .  As time goes by my knowledge of the writing process is increasing class after class. It’s like every time our lecturer presents on the writing process, am learning something new. For me, what was really interesting was when Mrs. Lazarus demonstrated a cluster and made mention that it should not be vague but it should provide examples in written or picture format. This session was an eye opener, I must admit that Mrs. Lazarus has a wealth of knowledge and she's an expert in teaching Language Arts strategies. What I love most is the opportunities that she always provides for us as students to be engage actively. This is critical in the teaching and learning process, as we learn the more students are involved, they retain information better. I am eager to use a cluster to assist in the prewriting stage but in a meaningful way, where my students will be better able to use it to enhance their writing pieces. As a mother and teacher, this bit o...

25th -29th  September,2023 .                My Second Blog The Writing Process Guess what...…. This second blog was really a challenge. Don't think too much, it was not what I wanted to write about but rather the failure of technology. Nevertheless, here it is👇 Ms. Lazarus really made this presentation on the Writing Process seems like buttering and piece of bread, but of course she made mention that it is a messy process. This simply means that the material should be revisited a couple of times. It is important, first and foremost to be familiarized with the different steps of the writing process, which are: Prewriting , Drafting , Revising ,  Editing and Publishing . This presentation I must admit, was very relatable and useful across the curriculum. Also this approach has a number of steps which is recursive and not linear. Therefore, each step that you take in the writing process will feed into other steps. For exa...
