The Writing Process
Guess what...…. This second blog was really a challenge. Don't think too much, it was not what I wanted to write about but rather the failure of technology. Nevertheless, here it is👇
Ms. Lazarus really made this presentation on the Writing Process seems like buttering and piece of bread, but of course she made mention that it is a messy process. This simply means that the material should be revisited a couple of times. It is important, first and foremost to be familiarized with the different steps of the writing process, which are: Prewriting, Drafting ,Revising, Editing and Publishing.
This presentation I must admit, was very relatable and useful across the curriculum. Also this approach has a number of steps which is recursive and not linear. Therefore, each step that you take in the writing process will feed into other steps. For example, if you discover that an error was made, you can go back to draft and correct it. After presentation and discussion, the knowledge gained is that this process is never a one shot. This opened my eyes a little wider, making me realize that the process must be taught properly and students need to be given adequate time with enough practice, before publishing. As a teacher I am now expose to this step by step process and am looking forward to execute it. Although it is time consuming, students will definitely require more time to plan, revise, edit before publishing. Therefore, it is important for me to provide the avenue for students to become better writers.
I have found this video to be very useful in demonstrating the writing process, I really hope you found it interested as well.
